Sendik’s markets in Southeastern Wisconsin asked North 50 to create a TV campaign to celebrate the brand’s 95th anniversary. Their challenge to us: “Make it emotional. We want viewers to ask; ‘Wait, that was for a grocery store?’” So we tapped into one of their core strengths - the power of great food in uniting (reuniting) humanity. With the world slowly emerging from COVID jail, the timing was right.
THE JOURNEY IS THE DESTINATION.
“Oh where have you been, my blue-eyed son?” Bob Dylan asks that in his song A Hard Rain’s Gonna Fall. The response? “I’ve stumbled on the side of 12 misty mountains. I’ve walked and I’ve crawled on six crooked highways, I’ve been out in front of a dozen dead oceans.” If you’ve spent any amount of time in advertising, you can relate to those lyrics. The point is, there’s no substitute for experience. Time is short. Budgets are tight. And expectations are high. If you’re not working with someone who’s been down a few crooked highways, you’re not getting full value.
